William and I met in September of 2007. We met online. We had one date before meeting me. We later found out it happened to be one of my former staff members who I had terminated. I had had a phone conversation (one with a self-proclaimed Israelite) but no dates.
One the day we were supposed to me, I was exhausted and remember thinking, "What's the point?" I called him to try and cancel but he was already on the way. I went ahead and met him for a drink at Chili's and we ended up spending about 4 hours there. He says I had my hair pulled back in a ponytail and was dressed very casually. I honestly don't remember. I DO remember thinking he was arrogant. As we talked and he began talking about his daughter I warmed up to him. I have no clue what we talked about for FOUR HOURS.
We often joke about how we just settled in to a relationship from the first time we met. We began spending all of our free time together and neither of us were dating other people. About 4 months into the relationship we decided to date exclusively eventhough we already were. After abiut six months I broke both my ankles and had pneumonia. I was sick for months! William thought he jinxed me and admits he seriously thought of leaving me! We overcame that and began to build our relationship. We spend alot of time with his daughter, Alexus and my niece, Christian. They are our girls and we love them SO much.
On September 11, 2009, William proposed to me. We were on a cruise and we in Antigua at the time. He actually got down on one knee! My ring is beautiful. I cried and agreed to marry him. One year from that day we will begin our lives together. We often joke about how long it took us to find each other but realize we weren't ready for each other before we met. We are truly best friends. We thank God for bringing us together and look forward to sharing our special day with our friends and family.
Thank you for your support and encouragement throughout our relationship. We look forward to you being a part of our family as we grow together. We love and appreciate you all.
